HOWELL, Mich. – A 41-year-old man from Howell was arrested early Wednesday morning after a chase through Livingston County.
According to authorities, Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies spotted a motorcycle going 70 mph in a 40 mph zone on Grand River Avenue. They attempted a traffic stop, but the motorcycle reportedly sped off, reaching speeds of 100 mph.
The motorcyclist reportedly drove into the Glens at Rolling Ridge apartment complex off Latson Road in Howell, where he abandoned his vehicle and ran on foot.
Police dashcam footage of the chase can be watched in the video player above.
A high-visibility safety vest the driver was wearing during the chase was found stashed behind a building’s air-conditioning unit.
The sheriff’s office said they were able to identify the suspect using evidence near the motorcycle and several witnesses.
The driver has been lodged at the Livingston County Jail for fleeing and eluding, as well as a parole violation.
