Flint man charged in armed robbery at Livingston County gas station

Arrest made days after robbery

HARTLAND, Mich. – A 29-year-old man from Flint has been taken into custody in connection with an armed robbery in Livingston County.

According to authorities, it took place just after 3 a.m. May 2 at the Mobil gas station on Clyde Road, just west of Spicer Orchards. A man wearing all black, including a black facemask, reportedly entered the store with a handgun and threatened the clerk.

He allegedly ran off with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.

Three days later, Dequan Currie was taken into custody by law enforcement in Genesee County. He was charged Tuesday, May 20, with armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm.

Currie’s bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety. He remains lodged at the Livingston County Jail.
