A Detroit woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a concrete wall on I-75 early Monday morning, police said.
The crash happened at about 3 a.m. on Monday, June 9, on northbound I-75 near I-94.
Michigan State Police troopers and fire officials responded, and when they arrived, they discovered that a Chevy Malibu had crashed into the concrete wall on the freeway.
The driver, identified as a 32-year-old Detroit woman, was unconscious and trapped inside her car. She was the only person in the car and was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, according to police.
An investigation revealed that the driver lost control of her car on the ramp from westbound I-94 to northbound I-75 and went off the roadway and onto the embankment.
The vehicle then traveled across all lanes of traffic and then crashed into the concrete wall on the left side.
“Troopers are continuing this investigation of why the driver lost control,” said Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw. “It is important for drivers to remember to slow down when exiting the freeway. Especially, if you are unfamiliar with the area.”
