MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Macomb Township is gearing up for the Run the Plank 5K which offers an opportunity for fitness, enjoyment, and charitable support all in one event.
Run the Plank 5K Run/Walk will kick off Saturday, June 28 at 8:15 a.m. Participants will start on the east side of Romeo Plank Road, beginning at Immanuel Lutheran Church and concluding at St. Peter Lutheran Church. To participate, runners must complete the 5K within one hour. While wheelchairs are welcome, pets are not allowed.

The entry fee for the 5K is $40 for adults and $10 for children aged 6 and under, which includes a shirt. For children under 6 without a shirt, participation is free. Registration costs will increase to $45 from June 21-26 and to $50 on June 27. All participants will receive a Tech T-shirt, a medal with a lanyard, and a complimentary pasta lunch/dinner on Friday, June 27, during packet pick-up. After the race, refreshments such as bottled water, bananas, pizza, and Kona Ice will be provided.
Additionally, the 1-mile fun run at St. Peter Lutheran Church is returning this year and is free to enter.
Proceeds from the event will support various charities, which will be selected after the race. Gift cards will be awarded to the winners in each category, with prizes given in five-year increments, and a plaque will be presented to the top male and female finishers.
