Severe thunderstorm watch issued for most of Michigan’s lower peninsula

DETROIT – As an upper-level low-pressure system enters the area, it brings shower and thunderstorm chances.

The main threat is hail, lightning and wind gusts up to 70 mph.

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of Michigan’s lower peninsula on Monday, June 9.

The thunderstorm watch runs until 10 p.m.

As of 3:15 p.m., Genesee, Livingston and Washtenaw counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
