I’m sure you saw the new section behind home plate at Comerica Park this weekend while the Tigers were sweeping the Chicago White Sox. Those seats look incredible, but they seem to be empty a lot more often than regular seats.

Little Caesars Arena also has plenty of premium seating near the court for Pistons games. This sparked a rant from our Ken Haddad over the weekend.
Are these seats -- their proximity to the playing surface and visibility on TV -- hurting the Detroit sports atmospheres?

Detroit Pistons appreciation

Yet when they clinched a playoff spot, it didn’t even feel like a big deal. The Pistons have been so good this season that it was basically just a formality.
