DETROIT – All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown visited comedian Kevin Hart's Cold as Balls YouTube show for the season 11 premiere to discuss various topics ranging from his upbringing to becoming an NFL star for the Detroit Lions.
The premiere occurred on Tuesday (April 8), when Hart, a Philadelphia Eagles fan, was rubbing it in that the Lions, who had the best record in the league, got upset by the Washington Commanders.

When asked about what happened, St. Brown said, “Washington, they played a good game. We had some turnovers. You wish you can have those back. They took care of the ball better than us. I think we had like four or five turnovers and I don’t think they had one.”
The Commanders play in the NFC East Division alongside the Eagles, so Hart loved every second of St. Brown’s explanation as the Lions’ loss meant that Philadelphia, which was the No. 2 seed in the NFC, had home-field advantage throughout the remainder of the playoffs.

Hart asked Brown about his leadership and how loud his voice was after the devastating loss to the Commanders.
“I didn’t speak to the team at all,” said St. Brown. “I don’t think any player did. You hug the players that you know, you love most, and that mean a lot to you as your team is never going to look the same.”
Before he could finish his heartfelt story while relieving the pain of coming up short last season, Hart jumped in and cut him off with a smile on his face.
“My team is going to look the same. Our team is going to look absolutely the same because we are Super Bowl champions.
And we are all best friends, and we love each other, and we’re going to stick together forever,” which got St. Brown to burst out with laughter.
“That’s why we’re different than Detroit. You keep that negative energy to yourself.”

St. Brown also talked about his upbringing, how he and his brothers got their names, and the meaning behind them.
He mentioned his mother’s impact on their lives and how she implemented education and being bilingual to his father’s work ethic, and how they became the great men they’ve evolved into.
St. Brown also talked about his mindset when he fell to the fourth round of the NFL Draft and how upset he was to be selected by the Lions, which brought joy out of Hart.
“I was pissed,” St. Brown said. “That was a time for me to sit back and reflect and think about everything that I did to get to that point. I was still excited to be drafted to Detroit.”
Hart: “You was excited to go to Detroit?”
St. Brown: “No, I was not.”
Hart: “I was going to say, ‘That’s a lie.’ Now, of course, you love the city.”
St. Brown: “Now, I love the city, but at the time, I was like, ‘EXPLETIVE, I’m going to Detroit.‘”

Before the show ended, St. Brown, in the midst of Hart’s celebrating and rubbing his nose in the ice-cold water, said he hopes the NFL puts the Lions back in primetime and schedules them to visit Philadelphia opening night.
Hart: “What are your predictions for next season?”
St. Brown: “We want to win the Super Bowl.
Hart: “But, (The Lions) we can’t because the Eagles are going to be in our way.”
St. Brown: “Hopefully, we play you guys in Week 1.”
Hart: “Is that your wish?”
St. Brown: “It is.”
Hart: “We’ll guess what, I’m going to make a call. You want us; you got us. You’re welcome, and I’m sorry.”
