Strong thunderstorms possible west of Metro Detroit -- What to expect

Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies. High: 85.

We’re keeping a close eye on the radar as we work through the evening hours on Monday, with the potential for the strongest severe thunderstorms until late Monday night.

We will keep some cloud cover around to accompany those chances for showers and thunderstorms, with overnight lows dropping into the lower 50s.

Some storms through late Monday night could produce damaging winds of up to 60 miles per hour and also hail.

However, we do not expect a widespread severe weather event for the region tonight.

Midweek forecast

Drier weather moves into the region. Looking ahead, expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds both Tuesday and Wednesday.

High temperatures will be cooler by the time we reach Tuesday afternoon, as we only head into the middle 70s, before warming up again into the middle 80s by the middle of the week on Wednesday.

Our next chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives in the region by Thursday, especially in the afternoon and evening.

High temperatures in the lower 80s by Thursday afternoon.

Weekend forecast

We keep the chance of rain showers in the forecast through the end of the week, on Friday, and it ends at the start of next weekend, on Saturday.

High temperatures are expected to remain in the lower 70s, continuing through the end of the weekend and into the start of next weekend.

Expect dry weather to move in, with the end of the weekend on Sunday looking promising, although we will maintain some cloud cover.

Mostly cloudy skies can be expected, with high temperatures expected to reach the upper 70s by Saturday afternoon.
